#BlogHer15,the world’s largest conference for women bloggers and content creators, took place in New York City. It was a three day conference full of information sessions, an expo space with brands that wanted to market to the attendees and great big parties.
As the expo opened on the first night, it felt like the running of the bulls. It was two floors of brands trying to gain brand awareness, while making connections with bloggers to further market their wares. I shook hands, played games and met brand managers. I was gifted phone chargers, make up, journals, snacks and business cards, also known as SWAG. I had my makeup and hair done for a photo shoot. I pinpointed four brands I wanted to connect with the next day and took my weary butt home.
The next two days where about listening to what the brand managers and the session speakers were saying. I had very warm receptions from several brand managers the previous day and wanted to reconnect with them. But how do I transition these meetings into a relationship that brings about income? I sat in on a few sessions, one about brand building and the other about pitching me as my brand, but my brand isn’t me. This was confusing!. I was lucky enough to be interviewed by The Moms on SiriusXM Radio which will air July 27th. They asked about my company, my point of view and what I make for dinner for my family every night. I told them about my favorite chicken thigh recipe which you can find it on my website. I had also met the food editor of SheKnows Media on Thursday night. So I brought her my snack bars and she seemed excited. I also met the brand manager from Bed Bath & Beyond, which was a great contact to make!
#Blogher15 was an overwhelming experience which was also a great decision to go, I would go again. As my company evolves so will my needs for this type of event. The biggest take away was to get more impressions on my site, (views, likes, shares and clicks), so please like my blog posts, share them with your friends and family. I appreciate your support and participation, and to show you that, it’s SWAG TIME! I have two giveaways that I want to share with you. Look out for the contest details on my social media and www.bethsblueprint.com.
