I love an impromptu party and having 20 people for dinner rarely rattles me. I do that by having a few fool-proof dinner party plans. I like to entertain in a certain fashion. If you have been a dinner guest of mine, please comment on this post. I’m not going to throw together lasagna and a salad and be done with it. As a 20something TV producer working in New York City, I applied for jobs to work for Martha Stewart multiple times. Since that dream was never realized I channel my inner Martha and my friends reap the rewards. Thank goodness Andrew is on board for this rollercoaster, I’d been in deep trouble if I didn’t have him invested in my crazy.
This party plan is the Naan Pizza. Naan bread is an Indian flatbread bread that has a fluffy core, distinctive charred flavor and a crisp exterior. I like the Trader Joe’s frozen Naan, garlic or plain flavored. I use the Naan as the pizza dough, since it is already cooked it takes 5-6 minutes on the grill to make each piece.
For this party I laid out all the prepped ingredients on red construction paper and wrote the ingredients in black marker. Then I let our guests loose, I told them to brush their Naan with olive oil to avoid burning and top it with their favorites. We then put them on the grill to melt together all the yummy ingredients. Best of all, no one has to man the grill.
Basil
Beets
Caramelized Onions
Cheese – Goat
Peppers
Red Onion
Sliced Tomatoes
Cheese – Mozzarella
Guacamole
Mushroom
Olive oil
Sundried Tomatoes
Tomatoes Sauce
Totally use your imagination, I went mostly savory but sweet Naan pizzas are amazing too.
Our friends loved it! Some people even made more than one; I love serving like this because people get to eat what they want. Plus a party with an activity attached is always a crowd pleaser. What is a party plan you have up your sleeve?
